Lets play the Radical Association Game!!!

October 24th 2008 23:15
We are less than two weeks away from the election. Two weeks away from this two year horse race finally being over. Oh and by the way, the stock markets are dramatically plunging, we are still spending billions of dollars in Iraq, and unemployment is reaching record highs. Despite all of these terrible crisis that are the real thing that needs to be addressed, the media and certain candidates feel that what the American people really need to know in order to vote is whether or not Barack Obama is still hanging out with William Ayres, who was a member of a domestic terrorist group that bombed federal buildings in the 1960's, when Obama was a child.

When it comes to potential radical associations of Barack Obama, I just have one question to ask...WHO THE HELL CARES?!!! The only way that these associations, be it William Ayres, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, or Tony Rezco, are relevant would be if you are stupid enough to believe that Barack Obama shares these same views. Do you honestly think that Barack Obama shares Ayres' political views and wants to bomb goverment buildings? Do you honestly believe that Barack Obama shares the opinion of "God Damn America?" Do you honestly think that Obama looks highly upon fraud and influence peddling a la Tony Rezco?

If you answered yes to any of the following three questions about Barack Obama's associations then you are fucking stupid and you shouldn't be voting. Now I will admit that I will be voiting for Barack Obama, but my opinion of the radical association's of candidates and people voting or not voting for them because of those associations is the same regardless of party affiliation.

Recently it has been revealed that John McCain has a well documented relationship with G. Gordon Liddy. Liddy is known for having a hand in the Watergate burglary as well as an incident when he was a radio host in regards to the ATF:

"Now if the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms comes to disarm you and they are bearing arms, resist them with arms. Go for a head shot; they're going to be wearing bulletproof vests. ... Kill the sons of bitches."

Now Liddy had a fundraiser for McCain in 1998 and McCain has been quoted as saying that "I'm am not embarassed in any way to know Gordon Liddy." Now, like with Obama and William Ayres, the only reason you would have to not vote for McCain because of this tie would be if you honestly believed that John McCain supported the killing of ATF agents. Any thought that McCain might feel that way would just be rediculous. If you do think that McCain supports the killing of federal agents, and you won't vote for him because of that reason...then you are fucking stupid and you shouldn't be voting.

Now comes my favorite player in the radical association game: Gov. Sarah Palin. It has been well documented that Sarah Palin's husband Todd was a member of the Alaskan Independence Party (AIP) from 1995-2006. The Alaskan Independence Party is known for the belief that Alaska should secede from the United States and become an independent nation. In terms of how the AIP actually feels about the American Government, party founding father Joe Vogler did not speak highly of the United States:

"The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government. And I won't be buried under their damn flag. I'll be buried in Dawson. And when Alaska is an independent nation they can bring my bones home."

To quote Bill Maher "Even Jeremiah Wright said 'Thats going a little too far for me.' However Sarah Palin actually spoke at their convention in March while still only Governor of Alaska. At the convention she told them to "keep up the good work." That is the closest tie that a radical association has to a political candidate. Yet for some reason this one is played down...could it be that Sarah Palin is actually a member of the Alaskan Independence Party. She could be...she has never denied it. However if your reason for not voting for McCain/Palin is because Sarah Palin might be a member of the radical AIP group...then again you are fucking stupid and you shouldn't be voting.

Sarah Palin, despite her own radical association, is happily fanning the flames of the radical association game. At a rally, she accused Obama of "palling around with terrorists." This resulted in the McCain/Palin constituency yelling out horrible insults about Barack Obama during McCain's speeches. They have yelled out things like "terrorist" "communist" and even "lynch the nigger." These are the people that produce the greatest problem. They are too stupid to judge the radical associations sanely. Sarah Palin has been playing the radical association game to its highest level and she may end up getting burned by it.

It also doesn't help that radio commentators like Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh, and Laura Inghram have so strongly pushed the topic of radical associations on their listeners...which has produced the intended effect of unjustified anger toward Barack Obama. People like Bill Maher and David Letterman, have also pushed the associations of G. Gordon Liddy and the AIP. However, they haven't hammered it into the ground like the Right Wing media has. All of these parties are guilty of inciting anger against their opposing party by bringing up radical associations. These people are smart in observing just how stupid people are and that they will vote one way because of radical associations. These people should all be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage of the gullibility of average people. These people aren't the only ones at fault...if the people voting were a little smarter, they wouldn't stand for it...but they aren't so they will continue to listen to these dangerous partisan hacks.

If you don't want to vote for Obama because his financial plan steers too close to socialism ("We need to spread the wealth") then fine, don't vote for him. If you don't want to vote for John McCain because his foreign policy plans involve...and I quote with my best Beach Boys impression... a plan to "Bomb bomb bomb bomb bomb Iran," then fine, don't vote for him. If you don't want to support Sarah Palin because she doesn't believe in a womans right to choose to have an abortion even in cases of rape and incest, then fine don't vote for McCain/Palin.

However to not vote for someone because of William Ayres and Jeremiah Wright, or G. Gordon Liddy and the Keating 5, or the Alaskan Independence Party is just foolish. If you are that fucking stupid that you are going to vote or not vote for someone because of their associations then do us all a favor and not vote, because you are voting for entirely the wrong reasons. You are not voting for the person that you believe will make the country better, you are voting because they once hung out with someone who is bad. Please I implore you, before you vote...make sure that you have made an informed decision, that way you can enter and exit the voting booth and feel like you did your proper civic duty. However, if the majority of people are swayed by radical assocation...then God help this country
