WWE TLC: A Geeks Predictions
December 14th 2009 00:05
Now this is the WWE niche pay-per-view that could have the brightest future. Everyone enjoys a good ladder match, so to wrap an entire ppv around the concept...as well as including the concept of a "chair match" or a "table match" could result in an incredibly fun and memorable event.
so on to the predictions:
WWE Womens Title:
Michelle McCool (c) vs Mickie James:
These are two of the best female wrestlers on the planet, so the match shouldn't be a total loss. I predict that Michelle McCool gets the win...and Mickie James gets buried.
WWE Intercontinental Championship:
John Morrison (c) vs Drew McIntyre:
I can't help but be astonished at the idea that an event that revolves around the concept of a ladder match would not include Morrison in one. He is an amazing athlete and can do amazing things with a ladder. I predict that Morrison continues his solid run with the IC title and McIntyre develops some credibility.
Kofi Kingston vs Randy Orton:
The final of their "best of 3" series should strive for the goal of elevating Kofi's credibility even more. I predict that Orton gets an unclean win and begins a program revolving around the Royal Rumble.
Ladder Match for the ECW Championship:
Christian (c) vs Shelton Benjamin:
When the opportunity to take two ladder match vets in Christian and Shelton in a potential show stealer for a title arrives...you better grab it. This match has all the makings of a classic. I predict that Christian continues his dominant reign as ECW champion and Shelton stays stagnant.
Table Match for the WWE Championship:
John Cena (c) vs Sheamus:
They are really building Sheamus to be the "next big thing." This is also the first time that Cena is seen as the clear veteran in a match. This is a match that Cena could conceivably lose without looking like the weaker wrestler. I predict that Cena does walk out with the title...but these two might have a rematch at the Royal Rumble.
Chairs Match for the World Heavyweight Championship:
Undertaker (c) vs Batista:
Batista seems to have gotten a new lease on wrestling life by turning heel. With all the discussions on the topic of concussions in wrestling, it will be interesting to determine how this match is pulled off. Also, I have never seen a chairs match before...so I don't know what to expect. Except this...Taker wins.
TLC Match for the Unified Tag Team Championship:
Jerishow (Chris Jericho and Big Show) (c) vs DX (Shawn Michaels and HHH):
This match is a complete crap shoot. This is one of the rare matches where any finish would be logical and serve a purpose. With rumors that Wrestlemania 26 will be HBK's last match, it wouldn't surprise me if they gave DX a run with the belts. However, the team of Jerishow have established a dominant reign that has been entertaining to watch. I predict that DX gets the win...but I will not bet the farm on it.
Those are my predictions...As always, I will be sitting with a bowl of popcorn and a buddy watching all the action.
Enjoy the show!!!
